ABOUT US

Our Church
Come visit a small, friendly, family-oriented church located in the historic village of Riverside, seven miles north of Omak, Washington, on Highway 97.
Our mission is the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Our primary objective is to spread the good news of salvation and help people experience a new birth, leading to full salvation. Alongside this, we are committed to following the example of Christ and His disciples by assisting those in need. Finally, we gather together to experience vital fellowship, strengthening one another in the faith (Hebrews 10:25).
Who We Are
Our services and sanctuary have a traditional feel while maintaining a relaxed, informal atmosphere. This allows each member to fellowship and feel like a valued part of a large, happy family in Christ.
We value young people and strive to tailor our Sunday School programs to the individual needs of our younger members. Being a smaller church allows us to more effectively customize our classes to each child's needs.
Our mid-week ladies' study group offers an opportunity for deep Christian fellowship among women. Each lesson is thoughtfully written and presented by the senior pastor's wife who has had years of teaching expererience, enabling them to develop a strong understanding of Scripture.
On weeks when we don't have a fellowship meal after church, we enjoy special desserts, often homemade pies or other treats. This provides another opportunity for fellowship and strengthens the bonds between members of our church family.
Our small size fosters a close-knit, family-like atmosphere that is impossible to achieve in larger churches. We rejoice that God has placed us here to provide a church home for those seeking a sense of belonging. Demonstrating love for one another in practical ways is central to our church's mission.

Our Standards
However, what truly distinguishes Riverside Bible Church is our unwavering commitment to the Bible as the ultimate authority for doctrine and Christian living. We are an independent church. Because we are truly independent, we are free to follow the teachings of Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit without external limitations. This does not imply that Riverside Bible Church embraces any and all beliefs or lacks doctrinal convictions. We firmly believe that the Bible clearly teaches certain doctrines and that we must uphold them, as Jude 1:3 exhorts:
"...that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."
A few of these core beliefs include:
-
The Bible's full, plenary inspiration, inerrancy, and authority.
-
Christ's virgin birth, the atoning sacrifice of His death for our sins, and His resurrection.
-
The universal sinfulness of humanity, rendering all guilty before God and in need of a Saviour.
-
The necessity of being born again through repentance, confession of sins, and acceptance of God's substitutionary sacrifice, thereby receiving eternal life.
-
The importance of baptism by immersion as an act of obedience following salvation.
-
The truth of the miracles and the creation of the world by God in a literal six -day period.
-
The call to love our neighbor as ourselves and to love God with all our hearts (Mark 12:29-31).
While this list only touches on some of our core convictions regarding the Word of God, we invite you to visit our church and discover more. We strive to worship God and be a light to those around us in Okanogan County.
